Don't waste a drop...

The Internet can be a dangerous place. Everyone says so. But so often we dismiss this as paranoia or overparenting and fail to see that the risks can be real.

The most recent online craze is Chat Roulette, a social networking phenomenon that allows web guests to link up with each other using microphones and webcams.

Half term

Having had to stop before the end of a three hour training run on Saturday 13, I felt terrible walking the last 10 minutes in sleet and snow.  The prospect of trying to complete 26+ miles seemed a long way off.

Fortunately at the beginning of the half term week I spent some time with my neice and her young children who took a great interest in improving my training. running through the Cornish countryside being shouted at by a 10 year old certainly rejuvenated my enthusiasm so after a short 1.5 hours on Thursday the 3 hours on Sunday was not easy but at least I didn't stop.  Sadly my wife is still faster and more stylish than I on the runs.

Fatal Attraction

When a relationship is new, it’s like looking after bone china. You carry it with care and try your best not to let it fall to the floor and smash to pieces.

'A picture tells a thousand words...'

It’s Valentine’s Day. Everywhere I look, there are couples holding hands or clinging onto each other to make the most of the one day of the year where it’s considered socially acceptable to practically do it in the street and not in the privacy of one’s home.

New Year's Resolution

As Headteacher of Easthampstead Community School, I thought that I should do something different in 2010 to help draw attention to the work we are doing as a Specialist School for Sport.

I enjoy all sports and have tried to keep fit since giving up competitive sports twenty yeras ago.  However I like a challenge so for several years have completed the swimathon and some short charity runs.

Dangerous Liaisons

I've never had an argument with someone on a first date before...and I didn't think I ever would.

Can you help @steve_gabb??

A fellow Bracknell based twittererer (??) is watching movies that were based or filmed in Bracknell.

He's got 'The Offence' starring Sean Connery (The Offensh?? - still a terrible joke the eighth time I've told it) and obviously there is Harry Potter.

Next years half marathon

The starting line of last year's Quintiles Bracknell Half MarathonA while off I know, but some of us have a LOT of training to do.

But I'm already making plans for next years Bracknell Half-Marathon, involving several naive souls from Bracknell Town Football Club.

Nearly 10 days on and little progress from my previous blog entry.

Mind you they have re-surfaced the road.

Roadworks - why so long!?

I have a question..

Why is it going to take until December 2009 to finish the Coppid Beech roundabout expansion/improvement/unnecessary extra traffic lights?

Well done Henry

Henry Abrahamian, Bracknell Manics Reserves veteran centre-back made it two man of the match awards in two games on Sunday, with a fine performance in the Manics 2-1 extra-time defeat by AFC Beachfleet.

Henry put on a masterclass of defensive heading and composure at the back that belied his years.

Sunday league away days

So the Bracknell Sunday League kicked off on Sunday. (Did you see the pics)

How did you get on? My team were away, and as anyone who has travelled with me, I hate away games.

A strange old place, the Manor..

Spent Friday night at the Manor with a friend who had popped over from Reading.

She had never been there before and was fascinated by the place.

Ouch ouch ouch...

Managed my first 90 minutes since October yesterday for Bracknell Manics Reserves, initially starting up front but was quickly switched to right-back when they realised I was hopeless!
