The Tragic Tale of Travis

Mmmm! Bracknell's best biscuits

“I’m still a cookie-holic, you can hide ‘em, I’m-a find ‘em, on the counter, in the closet, and I’ll say I ain’t do it with my face covered in chocolate.”

These words, from a soon-to-be-hit pop song, highlight the plight of a biscuit obsessed madman (no, not me).

They are a few of the opening lyrics from US pop/rap group Gym Class Heroes' new song Cookie Jar.

The band’s lead fast talker (singer would be stretching it a bit) spends a whole song going on about his love of the humble biscuit, going on to say: “I got a thing for Milano, Biscotti Italianos

And I never turn down some Oreos if you got those.”

It turns out that the song is actually quite tragic. Lead fast talker Travis McCoy seems to have a dangerous addiction to biscuits, or ‘cookies’ as he calls them.

He later raps: “I’m a monster for these cookies, I’m a beast for these treats, an animal for these crackers, head to feet they so damn sweet.

“And there you have it ha ha, I tried my best, I went to cookie anonymous, I guess I’m a failure, I can’t seem to keep my damn hands out of the cookie jar but, it is what it is.”

Our friend Travis was (possibly) last seen raiding the bins outside the McVities factory.

I had never before seen the dark side of biscuit addiction and was wondering if anyone else had?

Perhaps you, or a member of your family, has had a problem with biscuits. If so, I’d like to hear from you. Comment at the bottom of this blog if you want to share your experiences.

Alternatively, Jeremy Kyle lives in Winkfield, maybe knock on some doors and try to find him and he’ll shout at you until you’re better.
