I’ve been training for the marathon for about a month now.
It was all going fairly well up to last week, I was running about three times a week and even eating reasonably healthily.
But after a pretty unhealthy, exercise free weekend and a week of snow I’ve hit something of a dead end.
The main problem is that I still don’t particularly like jogging (although I accept that if you’re doing a half marathon it’s a necessary evil) and if you give me any excuse to take a week off I’ll grab it with both hands.
Now I’m finding it really hard to get going again and my excuses are getting flimsier and flimsier (if I slipped on one of the tiny bits of ice which are left I could set my training back by weeks etc).
This is where I need some help. I don’t think I’m can be the only one who suffers from lapses in motivation and I’m wondering if any of you more experienced runners out there have any tips for getting over them?
Motivate my a**e…
Ok, I’ll admit it here and now, I am having serious trouble motivating myself to start training for the Bracknell half-marathon.I’ll go as far as to say I have not started running training in any shape or form. What is it, 12 weeks away I think Mike said??
